Abstract
With the fast development of the economics nowadays in China, the publics increasingly concern about the growing serious problems of the environment surrounding us, of which the phenomenon of water pollution has been more and more serious, and water treatment has become an important constraint in both regional planning for urban and rural areas. In this case, it is very important to set up a complete system to research the collecting and treatment of wastewater.
The thesis of Wastewater Treatment for the City of Shenyang China is mainly about the situation of wastewater treatment, existing situation, regulation and governmental supports, technical information and part of the design of treatment plant.
The city of Shenyang has a population of more than six million. The existing treatment plants and the under constructed plant have a total design capacity of 700,000 cubic meters per day, which cannot satisfy the total wastewater treatment. The proposal plant in the thesis has a design capacity of 230,000 cubic meters per day, which can solve the most of the problems of wastewater in the northern east part of the city.
The wastewater treatment process was based on secondary treatment using a conventional activated sludge process. The recommended sludge treatment process comprises mechanical thickening followed by mechanical dewatering. Chemical conditioning will be necessary prior to both sludge thickening and dewatering.
The common wastewater treatment plant is comprised with coarse screens, inlet pumping station, fine screens, grit removal, primary sedimentation tanks, aeration tanks, blowers, secondary clarifiers and return sludge, chlorination tank and sludge treatment and digestion. In addition, there are also many accessorial facilities, general office, laboratory, eatery,
warehouse, carport, dormitory, rest house, repair house, general command office, electricity admeasure house and so on. They are all located around the living area, convenient for instruments conveyance and maintenance management.
After treatment, the effluent will achieve the provincial effluent standard of COD: 100 mg/l, BOD: 30 mg/L, SS: 30 mg/L.
